I’ve always loved art. I drew my stuffed animals coloring books when I was a kid. All of my school notes have doodles scribbled in the margins. As I got older, art became a much-needed outlet while navigating those wonderful years of puberty, bullying, and self-discovery. This love is still vibrantly alive today.
However, for a few years, I struggled to get myself to do much with art. The fear of failure is something many people are uncomfortably familiar with, and it took me a while to work through. Now I try to view any undesired outcome as a lesson instead of a failure. I’m re-learning to just enjoy the process and freedom of expression.
